Outdoor Recreation / Disc Golf
During spring thaw we close fairways to protect the course until further notice. Hiking Trails are open. (posted 4/22/25)
The Newbold Outdoor Recreation Area (NORA) and Rookery Run Disc Golf Course is located at 6954 Ole Lake Road.
Take Highway 47 North from Rhinelander approximately 8 miles to Ole Lake Road (across from Backwaters Bar and Grill).
Turn left onto Ole Lake Road. Drive to the park on the right.
Bathroom facilities available, NO drinking water available

Rookery Run Disc Golf Course
Rookery Run Disc Golf Course is built on a landfill closed 40+ years ago. The fairways are wide, two concrete pads at each hole and clear course markings. Opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. This course is Free to the public and depends on donations and town employees upkeep. Baskets were donated by UWSP.Â
